What is HR, Really?

It’s about PEOPLE

Many people I come across don’t really know all that human resources encompasses and to be honest it doesn’t really matter (unless you are an HR professional). What it really comes down to is people. HR is about people because without people in your company, and on your team, you really don’t have much. With that in mind, you should also have the right people: passionate, loyal, and people who really care. That is where the HR part really comes in.

Experts in “human resources” can help ensure that the business owner/manager is not only finding the right people, but caring for them, treating them well, helping them to achieve their objectives and when necessary having an appropriate means to weed out those who do not want to do all the above things. You don’t have to necessarily be an expert in HR to effectively manage and care for your people but you need to recognize the value that your employees bring to the table and work to leverage that value into a strong ROI for your company.

Do so by getting to know your people and creating a strong plan and vision that you can communicate to them. This will assist in getting their buy in to you and therefore to the organization. There is strength in numbers and with a strong team you can reach your goals.
