In the weird realm of HR there are more important things than vacations and payroll although, those are important, you, as a business owner, need to worry about other things. Things like, compliancy, hiring/firing, ALL facets dealing with employees, and running your business compliantly. Don’t we love those little aliens of running a business. They sneak up on you in the most in opportune times and when you don’t use them they get feisty and cause trouble for you and your business. If you give these regulations the attention they need then you can just call that the investigation and ultimately send those aliens packing.
I call these things you need to do within your business aliens because they can be weird and seem like a waste of time but you want your employees and yourself to be up-to-date with all new paperwork and you want to have a good reputation on your hands especially with government agencies. You signed up for this, so you have to be prepared to suffer the consequences but you can lessen those by following the rules and treating your aliens like something from another planet.
So, get it together and know what you need to do within your business and take that vacation at another time!
